Staff and Governance

A dedicated Board of Trustees, with a wealth of relevant skills and experience, governs The Nelson Trust. Particular expertise includes:

Staff:

The Nelson Trust employs 51 staff (37 Full time equivalent).

The Clinical team comprises highly skilled practitioners at the cutting edge of addiction treatment.  All qualified counsellors are accredited to a minimum of Diploma level. Most staff have additional specialist qualifications in mental health, nursing, addiction or eating disorders. The clinical team receives regular supervision and there is a continuous development programme to ensure practice remains at the forefront of the addiction field. The Night Support team is attached to the clinical team, ensuring 24-hour care.

The Resettlement team runs the post-treatment housing (4 premises), resettlement support service and the Aftercare programme. Staff include  support workers, advisors and advocates.

The Education Training and Employment team comprises Advice & Guidance workers, sessional tutors and workshop leaders.

The Finance and Administration department is an enthusiastic, efficient team of staff dealing with the day to day running of the buildings, services and finances. This department includes Admissions, HR & Compliance and Housing Support.

Fundraising comprises 1.6 FTE, covering events support, individual giving, trust and statutory funding approaches, corporate sponsorship, lottery, PR, marketing and website.
