Structured Day Programme

The Nelson Trust structured day programmes are designed for people with alcohol or substance misuse problems who, for a variety of reasons, cannot access residential programmes. The Day Care Programme may be a more practical choice for single parents, tenancy holders, carers etc.

Although The Nelson Trust is firmly committed to 'abstinence based' programmes, our aim is to provide treatment opportunities to people who are orientated towards recovery. The programme runs from 0915 until 1700 Monday to Friday, with an option of Saturday activities for those new to the programme. The Nelson Trust believes that each person is a unique individual and therefore requires a treatment programme designed around their individual needs. Therefore, treatment must be flexible. Each participant in the day programme will have a care plan, which takes into account the level of treatment and support required to make a full recovery. The full range of established treatment services within The Nelson Trust are available to people on day programmes. These include Family services, Education, Employment and Training services and Resettlement services.
