Why I chose Nelson Trust.......

"My Care Manager suggested the Nelson Trust because they have a women’s only house.  My boyfriend used to beat me up regularly and my habit was out of control. 

"I felt extremely vulnerable and lonely and she thought that being with other women may help my recovery process.  Nelson Trust also has a children’s visiting facility and family counselling service.  There are only two treatment centres in the country that provide an overnight accommodation facility for children, and seeing my daughter was a big part of my treatment and rebuilding a relationship with her.  I have now left Nelson Trust and my boyfriend!  I have re-built my life without drink and drugs and I have got back custody of my daughter.  I look back now at the girl I was and I really do owe a lot to the Nelson Trust for turning me into the confident woman I am today.  I hope by telling my story it will persuade others to seek professional help."
