The Nelson Trust is one of the longest established drug and alcohol abstinence-based treatment providers in the UK, with a national reputation for excellence and innovation. We work with some of the hardest-to-reach and most complex substance misusers, helping hundreds of people find a life of independence – a life beyond addiction.

Our mission is to ensure that people with substance misuse problems are offered the best possible opportunity for a healthy and fulfilling life by providing them with a continuum of high quality treatment, support and resettlement programmes.

Three Components of Care

Addiction affect every aspect of a person’s life, as well as the lives of the people around them. Successful recovery from addiction therefore involves much more than a short programme of treatment.  Treatment; education, training and employment; and resettlement - The Nelson Trust offers a comprehensive programme of treatment, and also educational and training opportunities and a resettlement and housing initiative. We believe that by integrating these three components into a complete programme of care and support, we offer people the best possible chance of recovery.

The Nelson Trust monitors client outcomes in the short and long term. Our performance consistently out-perform government targets as set out by the Department of Health National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse.
