Branching Out II - On The Brink

It is titled ‘On the Brink’ and includes 50 detailed paintings of animals, birds and insects at risk of extinction.  It took a lot of hard work by the group to get it finished in time, but I think everyone will agree it was worth the effort.

Tim, one of the artists, said ‘For such a long time you got your buzz for just an hour or so.  What we did was throwaway.   We even threw away our bodies.   Painting is a good way of relieving anxiety and tension as well as improving communication within a group.’

Kieran, who also took part in the project, agreed.  ‘Working as a team means that, when you’re down, the others encourage you.   I want to go to college to do art.  This has given me time to know what I want to do and get back into education.  Before, I just had no structure and no routine.’

The giant jigsaw is also going on to be exhibited at Westonbirt Arboretum.
