Financial Controller

The Nelson Trust is an expanding regional charity based in Stroud, Gloucestershire, which helps those who are, or who are at risk of becoming, directly affected by substance misuse.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer you will be responsible for the day to day running of the finance team (of 3) ensuring they continue to deliver an excellent service to stakeholders.


This role requires you to prepare monthly management accounts and the annual income and expenditure, balance sheet and cash flow budgets for review. You will oversee, mentor and support the finance team with responsibility for statutory transaction recording.


ACA/ACCA/CIMA is advantageous, but relevant experience of a similar role in the charity sector is valued. Experience in Excel (Intermediate) and Sage Line 50 are required for this role.

Full time post:          35 hours per week, however part-time hours would be considered (minimum 28 hours per week)
Holidays:                  25 days pro rata pa plus statutory
Salary:                      £32,000 to £40,000 per annum depending upon qualifications and experience.
Pension:                  6% Employer pension contributions.
