When clients complete their treatment they often write a reflection of their journey at Nelson Trust. Here is what one of our clients recently said:
First of all I would like to thank my first stage recovery worker for helping me through the first 11 weeks here. I don’t think I’d be sat here now without you on my side when I was finding it hard. Because of you and the family service I’ve now got a relationship with my daughter. First stage staff for their help and for keeping me on my toes and not letting me get away with stuff and the night staff for listening when things were troubling me. The men’s group, which I hated to start with but they were probably the best groups once I got started into it. Second stage staff, thanks for all your help. I’m grateful for the help resettlement staff are giving me at the moment. I know rules are put in place for a reason even if I don’t agree with them all. I’d like to thank all the ETE staff. Thanks to all the peers, past and present, for helping me get through this and if you’re a newcomer or if you’re not enjoying your time here at the moment, it’s hard but it does get easier and you will start enjoying your time here. For me it was a life or death situation and I don’t know where I’d be now if I didn’t do this so I gotta be massively grateful for that and if there’s anyone I forgot, nice one.
