Nelson Trust clients and staff really got in the Christmas spirit this year.
In December we had the privilege of sitting down in our Treatment Centre in Stroud to watch a pantomime presented by Nelson Trust clients and staff. A lot of effort went into the show and many laughs were had.
The 19th of December brought our Annual Recovery Christmas Party.
The Hub Bistro was busy from 3pm- 7pm with karaoke, alcohol free festive drinks and entertainment. Special guests included Aine Ball who brought the sparkle with her glitter makeup table, Alex Robertson who really did wow the crowd with his brilliant magic tricks and of course the real life Father Christmas who handed out presents to all of the children and kindly gave the adults chocolates on their arrival!
The annual event is an opportunity for individuals from an addiction-based background and their families to celebrate their recovery, share stories and have an enjoyable afternoon, whilst reconnecting and meeting new people from the recovery community.
Maybe next year I will bring my ear plugs though...
Christmas Bake Off!
We all know Christmas is the time for over eating and that means cake o'clock at The Nelson Trust! Our residents had a great time baking and decorating delicious cakes that our admin team then judged and crowned the winner. Which one do you think looks best?
Christmas can be a difficult time of year for some and can be triggering for individuals who are recovering from an alcohol or drug addiction. We are proud of all Nelson Trust clients who made the most of the festive season and wish them the very best for their recoveries in 2019!
