Fete and Family Fun Day with Prize Draw

Join us and celebrate 30 years of The Nelson Trust on Saturday 11th July at our Fete and Family Fun Day at the Star Centre, Hope Mills Business Park, Brimscombe, Stroud, GL5 2SE between 2.30pm and 4.30pm. Bring along friends, family and colleagues – the more the merrier!  There’s something for everyone, from traditional Trap the Rat and a Coconut Shy to flamboyant dancers and a Dog Show. Big band to get the vibe. Children can get their faces painted and et off steam on the bouncy castle. Nelson Trust clients come to the aid of their neighbour

The Nelson Trust in Stroud provides treatment, education, training and resettlement for people with drug and alcohol addictions. As part of their rehabilitation programme, clients are equipped with many new skills. This builds their confidence and sets them up for life after rehab. As part of this, they are very fortunate to get First Aid training with the British Red Cross. Read More

Clay Shoot and Dinner at Berkeley Castle

Our most popular fundraising event is now less than a month away, with the Clay Shoot and Black Tie Dinner taking place on Friday 15th May 2015 at Berkeley Castle. Last year the event coincided with the BBC filming Wolf Hall. Many of the guests were mistakenly sent to the middle of the film set, after saying they had arrived for the 'shoot', adding to the unique experience. Read More

New Grant from Public Health England Boosts Gloucestershire’s Hub for Recovery

Public Health England has just announced a grant of £350,000 to The Nelson Trust.  The money, from the national Drug and Alcohol Capital Grants Fund, has been awarded for the purchase of a building in Stroud which will serve two important purposes for Gloucestershire’s recovery community: downstairs will be an Upcycling Shop trading restored and redecorated furniture and household goods; upstairs there will be accommodation for up to four individuals who have successfully completed their addiction treatment and are just at the point of returning to paid employment. Recovery Community Christmas Party

The Nelson Trust is holding a Christmas Party for the Recovery Community on Sunday 14th December 2014 from 4:30pm - 8:30pm in central Stroud. The Christmas party aims to celebrate recovery in the community and provide a Christmas party for families in an alcohol-free environment. There will be children's entertainment from 4:30pm - 6:30pm followed by a buffet and other activities. Read More
