We are delighted to report that The Nelson Trust Annual Lecture 2013 raised over £4,000 for the charity's vital work.

Over 150 guests were capitvated by internationally renowned writer John Julius, 2nd Viscount Norwich.

As an acknowledged world expert on Venice, Viscount Norwich delighted the audience with his fascinating and sometimes quirky historical overview of the city. His love of Venice his encyclopaedic knowledge of the city, its trials and tribulations and its triumphs shone through. The evening proved to be a delight and it was clear Viscount Norwich would have been only too happy to continue long into the night. His infectious passion and enthusiasm inspired those amongst the guests who had visited Venice to return and those who hadn't to book at the earliest possible opportunity.

We are extraordinarily grateful to Viscount Norwich for giving of his time to support our work in this very special way.

Our sincere thanks also go to Mr & Mrs James Leith who very generously hosted the event on our behalf at their beautifcul home, to the members of the Trust's Fundraising Committee who worked so hard to make the evening a success and to all our guests for attending.
