The Nelson Trust Women’s Centre supports women using a trauma‑informed, gender‑responsive approach who are experiencing multiple and complex needs. We run a Lunch Club twice a week at our Swindon Women’s Centre, providing a safe and welcoming space for women to come together and enjoy a nutritious meal.
Are you passionate about supporting women in a holistic, trauma‑informed way to achieve long‑lasting change?
Are you flexible, reliable and able to take initiative?
We are looking for a Lunch Club Volunteer to support our team and the women we work with. The role involves helping to plan, purchase and prepare meals, welcoming women into the space, and contributing to a warm, inclusive environment.
You will be client‑focused, non‑judgemental and able to treat women with dignity, sensitivity and respect. The Lunch Club plays an important role in reducing isolation and supporting engagement for women who may find it difficult to access other services.
You will hold a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate or be willing to complete one online. This can be organised and funded by The Nelson Trust.
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and appropriate safeguarding checks. The Nelson Trust will support the successful volunteer through this process.
If you are looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference in your community, we would love to hear from you.
Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
