Evening Outreach Volunteer (Female) – Gloucester

Hours

Voluntary – at least one evening shift per month

Do you have a commitment to making a difference to women’s lives? Are you passionate about supporting women in a holistic, gender responsive, trauma-informed way to achieve long-term lasting change?

We are looking for a passionate and empathetic volunteer to join our team at The Nelson Trust Women’s Centre in Gloucester.

The purpose of this voluntary role is to engage and support women as part of our Sex Worker Outreach Project (SWOP) in Gloucester who are affected by exploitation and sex working, in order to break the cycle of prison, addiction, sex working and trauma.

You will be supporting our SWOP Evening Outreach Leads by providing emotional and practical support to women whilst they’re sex working. This post involves providing safety advice, dynamic risk assessment and support to engage with other services to enable women to break down barriers to achieve change and safety.

You will need to demonstrate good engagement skills working with women and have a track record of developing effective partnerships with specialist organisations in the local area.

We have opportunities for individuals who are passionate about supporting and empowering women in a holistic, women centred, trauma informed way.

Due to the nature of the work carried out in our Women’s Centres this role is restricted to female applicants only in accordance with the provisions of the occupational requirement (Equality Act 2010, pursuant to Schedule 9, Part 1).
