Gardening Volunteer (Female) – Cardiff

Role Title: Women’s Centre Gardening Volunteer – Female
Location: Cardiff Women’s Centre
Hours: 1 day per week, flexible hours

Are you passionate about supporting women in a holistic, gender responsive, trauma-informed way to achieve long lasting change?

Are you flexible, reliable, and able to take initiative?

We are looking for an experienced Gardening Volunteer to support our Cardiff Team and women, to create and maintain a relaxing and inviting garden space. You will need to have a good understanding of and ability to manage the garden, and support keyworkers and clients in growing and caring for what is planted there.

The Nelson Trust Cardiff Women’s Centre supports women in the community who are facing multiple disadvantage. The Women’s Centre offers a safe, trauma-informed space for women to come in and access 1-1 support, group interventions, and a ‘one-stop-shop’.

At the Centre, we have a small courtyard space that we would like to transform into a welcoming, flourishing garden area for hosting keyworking sessions, events and activities, and weekly Gardening Club throughout the Spring and Summer months.

The Nelson Trust is committed to safeguarding; therefore, the successful applicant will be
required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and provide the names and contact details of two
referees for references to be sought before commencing with The Trust. In addition, you will
also need to undergo an Enhanced Level 1 Vetting application with HMPPS.
