Women at Swindon Women’s Centre Take Part in Local Survey on Health Outcomes in the Area

In 2024, 51 women at our Swindon Women’s Centre contributed to Healthwatch Swindon’s report, highlighting the health outcomes needed to better support women with multiple unmet needs. This week, the report was published with key recommendations for health and social care services.

Women shared their experiences of local systems, including GP appointments, social services, hospital care, and mental health services. They identified significant barriers to accessing support, such as not feeling heard, being judged, and a lack of accessibility.

As an organisation committed to placing women at the centre of how support is delivered, we believe it is vital that services adopt a person-centred, trauma-informed, and consistent approach. Women’s centres demonstrate that this type of support not only improves health outcomes but also delivers wider social impact.

We are extremely proud of the women who shared their experiences as part of this report, and we hope their voices inspire meaningful change.
