The Nelson Trust have always believed in me, I knew I could walk into the centre and be in safe hands with them, I never felt judged.
I was referred in by my allocated social worker when I was around six months pregnant. I have been lucky to benefit from multiple different groups that the centre offers as well as counselling.
The on-sight creche allows me to have some time to myself, share experiences and build friendships with other mums whilst knowing that my child is in safe hands.
I have had some brilliant keyworkers who have provided support, guidance, and helped me see hope for my future for both me and my child.
I have been able to rebuild my life with their support. The Nelson Trust have been absolutely amazing; I felt at rock bottom when I was first referred to their services.
They have helped me build confidence not only in myself, but also in being a mother and helped me see my abilities. They always saw me for who I was, not the difficulties I was facing.
They have helped me apply for grants, which I’ve used to create a safe, warm, loving home for my family.
They have advocated for me to attend a mother and baby unit which allowed me to receive further support with my child; they helped me through the journey of this and celebrated with me when we had the desired outcome!
